A Brief History: Ty began producing Buddies in 1998; the height of the Beanie Baby craze. Collectors couldn't always afford Beanie Babies because increased demand had caused prices to skyrocket in the second-hand market. To solve the problem, and capitalize on it ;) Ty introduced Buddies. These are larger versions of the traditional Beanie Babies. Ty has since morphed the product line and now only produces licensed buddies.
